Leatile Malets Monthe is a London based documentary filmmaker from Botswana. With experience as a director, camera operator and editor, Leatile uses character driven documentary filmmaking to highlight socio-cultural issues in local communities and explore the universal nature of individual experiences.

 

After living in New York,  where  he documented the work of impact driven organization in communities of color, Leatile moved back to Botswana where he founded “PERSPECTIVE DOCUMENTARIES” a production company that  combines the art of cinema and the curiosity of journalism to share human-centric stories  through engaging original documentaries

 

Leatile's work has screened at festivals such the Global Impact Film Festival and the Botswana International Film Festival. His previous work was selected as one of the “Hot Films In the Making”  by From The Heart Productions. Leatile  is a 2022 Richard D. Lombard Fellow and a 2024 One Word Media Fellow.  

 

Leatile Malets Monthe graduated from Dartmouth College in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Masters in Documentary Film at the University of the Arts London.
