Leatile Malets Monthe is a London based documentary filmmaker and writer from Botswana. With a focus on global majority aspirations and immigrant experiences, Malets uses character driven storytelling to highlight socio-cultural issues in local communities and explore the universal nature of individual experiences. ​

Leatile's work has screened at festivals such the Global Impact Film Festival (where his collaborative film won Best Student Documentary) and the Botswana International Film Festival.  When not working on his own original documentaries, Leatile  works as a video producer, camera operator and editor.His previous work was selected as one of the “Hot Films in the Making”  by From The Heart Productions. He is a 2022 Richard D. Lombard Fellow and a 2024 One Word Media Fellow.  

 

Leatile graduated from Dartmouth College in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Masters in Documentary Film at the University of the Arts London.
